FSGL 2K7 Weekly Press Release - Week 17 (2007-09-05)
CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK
Links and standings are to the right. Let’s talk tie breakers. Team 4 has the tie break edge over every combination of ties for first place. Team 1 has an edge over Team 2. Team 5 has the edge over Team 1. Teams 2 and 5 cannot possibly tie for first. Team 3 is way out.
Now, let’s talk Magic Numbers. The magic number represents the points a team captures and the points the other team fails to capture. For instance, Team 4’s magic number over Team 1 is 11. That means, for every point Team 4 earns while playing against Team 1, the magic number will decrease by 2. One for the point they earned and one for the point Team 1 failed to earn. Another example is that Team 4 has a magic number of 9.5 over Team 2. That means, the magic number decreases for each point Team 4 earns next week and also for every point Team 2 fails to get in their match against Team 5. Get it? The numbers are as follows:
Team 4: 11 over Team 1, 9.5 over Team 2, 9.0 over Team 5
Team 1: 37.5 over Team 4, 23.0 over both Team 2 & Team 5
Team 2: 39.0 over Team 4, 26.0 over Team 1, 23.5 over Team 5
Team 5: 39.5 over Team 4, 26.0 over Team 1, 24.5 over Team 2
Team 3: The imaginary number i.
In other words, Team 4 needs just 5.5 points to eliminate Team 1 and probably Teams 2 and 5, unless one of those teams dominates the other. Then Team 4 needs more points to stave them off.
The tee off order will be as published so that the front runners have more of a chance to get the round in. So, front runners, please try and get to the course next week earlier than usual so that we may possibly get out early and beat the sun from setting. Then, please join us all at Prime Time Joe’s after golf, for our end of the year party. There will be free food and gifts.
Barkeep, another Mekong please. Team 4 made their lead even longer by beating Team 1. Team 2 had an opening to get back in it, but ended up still stuck, barely, in third place. Will Team 4 indeed overcome the only week the Captain didn’t show worst week in Fore Skin history? Will Team 1 get revenge and redemption from last year’s collapse loss in the last week and get Prez’s name on the cup in his absence? Will Team 2 redeem themselves from collapsing getting bad breaks having no more bye weeks encountering bad luck and losing their season-long stranglehold on first place? Will Team 5 come out of nowhere on the back nine on Sunday and steal win the Fore Skin Cup like we all know they deeply want? Be there on Wednesday.
Yes of course, you can keep the change. As always, listen at www.northcoastcast.com for a review of the successful 1999 album Beach House on the Moon, by Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band.
A new glass here for this new friend of mine. Christina drinks and smokes.

Did You Know? The Most Holes-In-One in a career is 68 by Harry Lee Bonner from 1967 to 1985, most of them at his 9-hole home course of Las Gallinas, San Rafael, California. Thanks to Golf in Costa Rica.

FSGL 2K7 Weekly Press Release - Week 16 (2007-08-29)
Links and standings are to the right.
So just how far down do you want to go. It’s not even about golf anymore (was it ever?). It’s time for the Fore Skin Playoffs. The top four teams play each other the next two weeks. Whoever can dig the deepest and exhibit the most heart will come away with the cup. Will it be the upstart Rob-n-Baz duo? Can Heiney create a chance for the first threesome on the cup and get Prez’s name on it for the first time? Can hard-marching BK/2.0 continue their Sunday charge? Or will perennial champs The Captain and the Oops come through with a threepeat and overcome the worst week in Fore Skin history? Stay tuned. {This may be broadcast on Comcast in place of the Big Ten Network.} Update: The Captain neglected to mention the spark that G-D’oh provided on the 18th tee. His driver brought sparks up into the air and his tee shot sailed through the smoke. Something like that. It was actually really cool.
We can talk it out over a cup of joe. As always, listen at www.northcoastcast.com for a review of a piece of the original Jimmy Buffett boxed set.
And you can look deep in my eyes. Christina got back. I mean, Christina WAS back.
Skin Quiz: What song and artist was used for the paragraph headings last week?
Did You Know? The Most Holes-In-One in a year is 28 by Scott Palmer in 1983. All were on par 3 and par 4 holes between 130 yards and 350 yards in length at Balboa Park in san Diego, California. Thanks to Golf in Costa Rica.
FSGL Poker/Skins Report: Poker was taken by G-D’oh after a redo, seeing as the Heiney and DJ team’s scores were being miss-reported by someone. Skins were spread out as always.
FSGL Quote of the Week: “That tree is dedicated to someone and you pissed all over it.” - Baz
Skin Quiz Answer: “Contraband” by Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers.
Like I was a super-model...uh-huh.

FSGL 2K7 Weekly Press Release - Week 15 (2007-08-22)
Links and standings are to the right. Regarding the scorecards from last week, I had issues scanning them in. So Teams 1-2-3 were scanned twice - once right side up, then upside down. You have to flip 180 degrees to read all teams in a row right side up. First place has changed hands. I repeat: First place has changed hands! Not only that, but more importantly, the race tightens even more. The three horses are only 2 points apart total! And Team 5 has peeked into the race a bit and still has a chance as well.
Anything you want, that you don’t need. Team 1 took advantage of it’s handicap and shook off aliens who took Heiney’s #5 drive and was the big winner in our last scramble of the year. Team 2 was short a player and it cost them first place. Team 4 SUCKED, but still moved into first place.
La cocaina, las armas, or the weed. As always, listen at www.northcoastcast.com for the latest on the boys’ trip to the Cheeseburger in Paradise.
Como Villa, como Zapata, como Guevara, como yo. Christina snubbed us! Brooke filled in and took only a bit of abuse. Christina looked out for her.
Skin Quiz: What song and artist was used for the paragraph headings last week?
Did You Know? The Record for 36 Holes is 122 by Sam Snead in the 1959 Sam Snead Festival on May 16-17, 1959. Thanks to Golf in Costa Rica.
FSGL Poker/Skins Report: Poker was taken by CCJ and his protégé Jacob, who is also known as the Captain’s oldest son. Skins were spread out a bit.
FSGL Quote of the Week: “Nice hit, Baz.” - Rob
Skin Quiz Answer: “World Ain’t Gone Crazy” by Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers.
I am Capitan of my own ship! Soy un pangero!

FSGL 2K7 Weekly Press Release - Week 14 (2007-08-15)
Links and standings are to the right. The race tightens.
The world ain’t gone crazy baby. Team 4 was able to improve 600% on BYE weeks by getting a respectable 12 points, moving within one point of wire-to-wire-attempting first place Team 2. Team 1 stumbled, but has a promising two straight scrambles to make it up. Teams 3 and 5 were the big winners this week.
No, the world ain’t gone crazy baby. As always, listen at www.northcoastcast.com for the latest on the boys’ trip to Caseville for Cheeseburgers.
No, the world ain’t gone crazy baby. Christina was back! Greg stayed!
Skin Quiz: What song and artist was used for the paragraph headings last week?
Did You Know? The first professional to record a 59 on the US Pro Tour was Al Geiberger on June 10, 1977, in the Danny Thomas Memphis Classic at the Colonial Country Club. It included 11 birdies and an eagle and just 23 putts. The score was eventually equaled by Chip Beck, and more recently David Duval. Thanks to Golf in Costa Rica.
FSGL Poker/Skins Report: Poker and skins were played. The Captain forgets who won.
FSGL Quote of the Week: “I’m a pusher.” - BK
Skin Quiz Answer: “Hourglass” by Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers.
It was born that way.

FSGL 2K7 Weekly Press Release - Week 13 (2007-08-08)
Links and standings are to the right. It’s now a three horse race folks! Team 1 took care of business on their PosNite Bye and Team 4, even though old and struggling through the heat, conjured all their experience to carve out a big win over first place Team 2. They are at the top of the stretch.
Sand is rushing through the glass. Team 1 destroyed the 16 point maximum for BYE weeks. Team 4 destroyed Team 2. Baz was on vacation (so he drank).
So busy turning now into the past so fast. As always, listen at www.northcoastcast.com to catch the latest Riddles in the Sand.
Turn the hourglass over. Christina refused to serve us, preferring to serve the first-Wed-of-month Biker Club meeting listen to the them and their boob jokes.
Skin Quiz: What song and artist was used for the paragraph headings last week?
Did You Know? The Lowest Recorded Score by a Woman in a professional tournament on an 18-hole course of more than 6,000 yards was a 62, first recorded by Mickey Wright on the Par 71, 6,286 yard Hogan Park Course at Midland, Texas, in November 1964. The score was equaled by Laura Davies in the 1991 Rail Charity Classic. Thanks to Golf in Costa Rica.
FSGL Poker/Skins Report: Oops took poker with a straight. Skins were dominated by the Heiney & DJ scramble, except for one by The Captain.
FSGL Quote of the week: “Rob - you shouldn’t have let me drink.” - Baz
Skin Quiz Answer: “Noisy Head” by Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers.
Turn the hourglass over again.
