FSGL52 - Wallyball or Racquetball at Zodiac
The FSGL52 initiative is the movement to get out of the house and play something 52 weeks a year; golf in the summer, Wallyball and racquetball in the fall and winter. So it is time for:
Take 2:

The Fall 2007 Season opens. We say congratulations to The Captain & the Oops on another successful FSGL Championship Golf Season and another year with their favorite knick-knack, the Fore Skin Cup, and we start playing wallyball and try not to hurt ourselves.

FSGL 2K7 FINAL Press Release (Golf Season Over)
CONGRATULATIONS TO TEAM 4 ON THE FORE SKIN CHAMPIONSHIP!
Links and final standings are to the right. Winner was Team 4: The Captain & The Oops. A threepeat, tying the Fore Skin record first set by Schmuck & DanDub in 2002. Also, this was “Won for the Thumb,” as Team 4 captured their 5th career title, the most prolific record in Fore Skin history. That means Team 4 has conquered a full one-third of all Fore Skin Championships ever held. This was accomplished in spite of owning the worst scoring night in Fore Skin history (two points on a bye week scramble, giving 14 points back to the field) and finding the water every single night golf was played on hole #13 (that’s right, the team went into the water at least once every time they hit from the thirteenth tee).
Meanwhile, Team 1 fought valiantly, winning the last night. But, alas, it wasn’t by enough points. That gives Team 1 two straight second place finishes since Heiney joined up after a cup winning season of his own in 2004. Team 5 finished the season as the hottest team and parlayed last place into a close third place finish at the end. They seemed more focused than ever to get their hands on the coveted cup. Team 2 slid down to 4th, but the nearly-season-long leader showed they are a contender in years to come if they can continue to tame the scores of most-improved linkster Baz. Team 3 had too many excuses absences (injuries, business travel, etc.) to overcome and have to wait till next year again to seriously pursue their lifelong dream of drinking out of the Fore Skin Cup.
Tip the bottle, bite the lime. Another season completed for all. Prizes were awarded to all. Food was served to all. Beer was poured for all. All is well.
The kids are lightin’ firecrackers, boom, boom, boom. As always, listen at www.northcoastcast.com for hilarity and hijinx the entire off-season.
Daisies stand up on their tiptoes. "Christina! Take me away! Take me away with you!”—Rick Springfield. Christina was gone. We never got to say goodbye. So, in our sadness, we pathetically took pictures of all the tattoos on the waitresses left at Prime Time Joe’s.
Skin Quiz: What song and artist was used for the paragraph headings last week?
Did You Know? The most consecutive Fore Skin Cups ever won is three?
FSGL Poker/Skins Report: Poker was awarded to Team Jim with five 4’s. They also got a hat as a very special gift for the last night. Skins were also awarded to Team 3’s scramble score with Captain and Heiney getting one each.
FSGL Quotes of the Week:
“Congratulations guys.” - Heiney
“You guys played awesome all year, you deserved it” - DJ
“You guys are so lucky.” - Pretty much everyone
“You guys won? Congratulations! I am so proud of you! Here, let me give you guys a hug.” - Elise
“I’m moist.” - Elise
Skin Quiz Answer: “Mekong” by The Refreshments.
Here’s to Life!
See you in 2008! Meanwhile, look for outing-related events soon. Possibly non-golf related to use our outing money. And, as always, the FSGL52 initiative kicks into gear on Wednesdays at Zodiac Racquet and Health Club as we play Wallyball. Stay tuned to the web site to keep abreast of the situation.
