FSGL 2008 Week 6 Press Release (6/4)
The standings tightened up a little, but not much more change than that as nearly every team (but first place Team 2) reached double figures this week.
You should see Prime Time Joe’s new Personal Pizzas. They are huge. Ask Baz and Oops.
Rachel took care of our B.S. while dealing with a completely packed house for Wings and Pistons night. She also sang for us, but neither she nor we know what song it was.
Former Prez Ween took Poker to completely break even for the night as a sub, then took a skin for gravy. But the highlight of the extracurricular games was Heartbreaker’s First. Skin. Ever. The skin was both a dream maker and a love taker, not to mess around. He celebrated with Buds and a cigar. Oh wait, he does that every week. Well, he celebrated more than usual.
Back to round robin play. Front nine. See matchups to the right as the standings remain volatile. The Match of the Week is the Generation Jim matchup of Teams 3 and 6.
The invincible winner, and you know that you were born to be...

FSGL 2008 Week 5 Press Release (5/28)
Here we celebrate another pathetic week of scores for the league, except for BK, who was the only person to break 50. He propelled himself into A Flight status again, but more importantly - teamed with partner Greg 2.0 to position themselves for a first place showdown with Team 6 this week for Position Night 2008 #1. Baz carried his team into a longer first place lead (we have seen this before) but will have to contend with his under-average scoring soon enough. Team 4, seemingly aware that they are too high in the standings this early in the season (they usually take command in the second half of the season), stumbled badly to the aforementioned Team 5 juggernaut. But let’s not forget Captain’s 11 on #9 that may provide inspiration or desperation. Time will tell. Looking at the standings, it seems that Team 6 has the big lead and everyone is bunched up behind.
The league restarted their Joe’s Prime Time affection and yet another new face was recruited to deal with us. Veteran Rachel popped her Wednesday cherry in an impressive manner, taking care of Greg 2.0 and CCJ with smart ass actions and mouthiness. We love her.
Position Night #1. See matchups to the right as the standings remain volatile. The two top teams will definitely be the match of the week as the entire league looks to have the reins pulled back a bit on Team 6.

FSGL 2008 Week 4 Press Release (5/21)
Here comes another song about Mexico...
Not a stellar week of scores for the league. A couple guys didn’t show and a couple subs didn’t pan out. Nearly the entire league shot worse than their average. I think perhaps that CCJ’s card said it best: “We Suck Golf Balls”. Thus, Team Pete Morgan nosedived into 3rd place after their performance. Team 6 used Baz’s usual stellar performance at the beginning of the year to cruise into 1st place.
I believe for the first time in a while, the league didn’t represent at Joe’s Prime Time. So, nothing to report there.
Week 4 will revisit the original Week 3 and we will finally get to play the Front Nine. And it will be the long-awaited confrontation of former teammates Robber and Baz as the Match of the Week.
Tip the bottle and bite the lime...

FSGL 2008 Week 3 Press Release (5/14) Take 2
Ahem.
Only six total Fore Skin members showed up. Yep - just barely exactly half the league. Teams 5, 4 and 2 all completely showed. Teams 1, 3, and 6 did not. An official FSGL night requires at least half the league to participate. Since we received two dissenting votes to play, golf was cancelled. I guess you could call it a rain out. It had to be proven to the course employee that it was raining at the time (the puddles outside the window showed drops falling at 5:30pm, thank goodness). Only then were we allowed to add a week onto our schedule. No other leagues during our scheduled time at Wesburn were cancelled. Oh, perhaps there is a women’s league that was supposed to start this week and cancelled. You know, the kind of league filled with participants that have vaginas? That kind of league may have cancelled. The other men’s leagues at Wesburn? Yeah, they still played. But. Dry! Warm!
You have to hand it to Team 2 - they went and played anyway on their dime. They dealt with some sprinkling for two holes, then it stopped and even got sunny. They bagged up - good job. You are commended. Team 4 went straight to the bar to record an early podcast. Team 5 went home. But they showed at least.
Because not enough showed, men or otherwise, the schedule has been revamped a bit. Our 2-man scrambles have always been floaters, so I moved that around to keep our round robin pure (everyone team plays once on each nine against each other) and the Position Nights remain balanced as well. Check it out at the right. If you find any issues, please bring them to the executives’ attention.
Take 2. Week 3 will now be on the back nine. The original Week 3 Front nine matchups were pushed until the following week. Regular Round Robin play continues. Krazy Tee is in effect. Featured match of the week? Er, maybe the 2 v 4 matchup. Just to see if Oops will EVER stop calling Adam by the name of Aaron. Stay tuned.
Everybody I know say they expect me to go to the party .

FSGL 2008 Week 3 Press Release (5/7)
To the right - find updated links to the full press release and scorecards for last week and this week. Standings are also updated. Don’t forget to send your team name and team artwork and it can be applied to the page.
Yeah, just sitting back trying to recapture a little of the glory of.
Team Jim (or shall they be called Pete Morgan?) continued their strong play by narrowly defeating Three Time Defending Fore Skin Champion Team 4 (Schmoops?). Still, their hold on first place shrunk to a half of a point as Baz and his new teammate, Kato, gave Team 5 an old fashioned beat down. Team 1 welcomed back Charter Fore Skin and former Prez, Ween, producing a solid victory over Team 2, who are trying to find some consistency right now.
Back nine Wesburn course improvements included a new tee box on #12 nearly making it real Par 5 distance.
Robber used his inconsistency to take Fore Skin Poker with a 8 high straight! He also took a skin along with Schmoe while CCJ took three for himself. Liz (new gal) waited on us again and took all the sass in stride.
Regular Round Robin play continues onto the front nine. Krazy Tee is in effect. Featured match of the week has to be the first direct confrontation between the estranged team duo of Robber and Baz. Will there be lighthearted accounts of rounds gone by? Will there be bitter accounts of last year’s late season performance? All eyes will be focused on this matchup.
Well time slips away and leaves you with nothing mister but boring stories of glory days.
